Customs House Wedding

Wedding season is in full swing again!  After an extremely hot and humid January and February in Brisbane, I was looking forward to Aimee and Dan’s March wedding – little did we know it would be another stinking hot Autumn Day, but everyone had a fantastic time and Aimee and Dan, and their bridal party were great value, and it’s always wonderful to meet family and friends too.  Here’s their Real Life Wedding!

I met the nicest couple, Niki and Chris, back in 2010 when I shot their wedding at the Greek Orthodox Church at Mt Gravatt.  Since then I’ve been a part of their family growing, capturing newborns and first birthday cake smashes.  And today I photographed their extended family.  Niki said her family were trying to think of a different Christmas present, so instead of buying separate presents, they all pooled their money to have a photoshoot with me! (that made my heart sing Niki when you told me that!)….

So we had 1 day between Christmas and New Years where everyone was together and available for their session at the Brisbane Powerhouse.  Here’s some of their images from that afternoon.

Thank you again Niki, Chris, Theo, Maria and John & Debs (and all of the children) for choosing me as your family photographer again.  It’s always a pleasure!

On Christmas Eve, I took our children and our two Spoodles, for a very impromptu photo shoot in the park just down the road from our place.   This was our first Christmas having Harvey (the little white fluff ball) as part of our family.  Harvey was nearly 16 weeks old and is a very energetic, funny and naughty little pup.

Oscar (our grey 10 year old Spoodle), actually has Diabetes and is blind (not that you would know it, he gets around great for a blind dog!).  He’s been a great family member since we rescued him when he was 13 months old from Canberra, but he’s really not well and we’re not sure how much longer we will have with him, so it was very important to have some photos of him this Christmas.

So my daughter and I walked down to the park with Harvey (to wear him out) whilst the boys (Ben my husband, my son and Oscar) drove down to meet us.  Harvey’s red bandana which says “I’ve been naughty” suited him perfectly on the day!!

I think it was my shortest photo shoot in history!  They do say don’t work with kids (especially your own) or animals!!!!

Here’s some from the afternoon :O)

It’s nice to do something a little bit different every now and then, and capturing Christenings / Baptisms is such an honor.  I met Baby E’s family at the Holy Spirit Church at New Farm for this lovely intimate family Baptism.
