Nicole and Jared’s classical, elegant and intimate garden ceremony

This week I’m sharing the beautiful, intimate wedding of Nicole and Jared at New Farm Park.

Real Life Wedding

Date: 18th August 2017

Theme: Classical, elegant and intimate garden ceremony

Couple’s names: Nicole and Jared

Ceremony location: New Farm Park Rotunda

Reception location: Rhubarb Rhubarb

So a few years ago I was 2nd shooting the wedding of Rochelle and Gabe with my husband Ben (he’s a wedding photographer too) and I met this wonderful family!  Nicole was a bridesmaid, along with her sister Karla.   I love how these 3 brides have now gotten married and they’ve all been each other’s bridesmaids!

Nicole contacted me a few months ago and told me they were organising a wedding (for about 2 months time), because Jared’s best friend was coming to Australia from the UK, and they wanted Jarod (the best man) to be here for this special occasion.  So Nicole and Jared organised this gorgeous wedding in record time and it went without any hitches!!

The most crazy thing about this wedding was that Nicole’s sister’s name is Rochelle, Jared’s sister’s name is Richelle, and my sister is Rochelle also!!   I think it was fate that I was meant to shoot this wedding, since we all have connections with Rochelle/Richelle’s!!

Gown: Elite Bridal & Formal Wear

Wedding bands and engagement rings: Nicole’s Grandma’s engagement and wedding band, Jared’s ring: Stunt ring provided for the day due to short engagement/wedding turnaround. Final custom ring still in design. Both through Crown Family Jewellers.

Wedding Coordinator / Decorator: Miss Weddings

Hair: Powder Room |  Hair piece/ Veil:  Chrissa Alexion   |  Bridal party attire: David Jones

Make-up: Powder Room  |  Flowers:  Northside Flower Markets  |  Stationery: Vista Print

Music: Rhubarb Rhubarb supplied  |  Photography: With Every Heartbeat Photography

Honeymoon: South Australian wine country

The proposal: Jared took Nicole out to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, Two Small Rooms, for her birthday… after the champagne was poured, Jared asked Nicole if she would like her birthday present.. when he handed over a gift wrapped box, Nicole quickly unwrapped to find a wedding themed Lego set… whilst Nicole was digesting what this was, Jared got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful white gold solitaire diamond ring… It took Nicole a few seconds to compose herself and through her happy tears, she finally said yes and gave Jared a very big cuddle..

Hen’s night:  A few drinks and dinner at West End with Nicole’s sisters and closest girl friends, flower themed.

Buck’s night: Drinks, putt putt and driving range at Victoria Park Golf Course, followed by steak and 90s console video games at home.

Funniest Moment on your wedding day:

It has to be the flower girls and the ring bearer … kids being kids, they were shy to walk down the aisle and Zara did not want to leave Nicole when it was time for them to go home! Very cute.

Special Memory:

Wearing our grandmothers rings was the most special moment, having them part of our beautiful day as they have both passed and were very important in Nicole and Jared’s life.

Special thanks: Nicole’s family for their help and providing support for the big day.

Advice for other brides-to-be:

Try to make everything as simple and as less fuss as possible, because what is most important are those special words in becoming husband and wife.

Why you chose Lisa from With Every Heartbeat Photography:

We had met Lisa before at Nicole’s older sisters wedding as she was a photographer for it.. and so we knew her work. Lisa was so easy to talk to and we loved her flexibility with our needs.

Thank you Nicole and Jared for choosing me as your wedding photographer – I had a wonderful afternoon with you and you both looked fantastic!  Wishing you all the best for the future and I hope to see you all again soon!!

More than just a Head Shot

Personal Branding is more than just a head shot.

Standing out in your Industry and setting yourself apart from your competition is what you need!

Thank you Cheree for this lovely testimonial too”

“I connected with Lisa at a workshop we both attended and I asked her if she could do some personal branding photos for my small business.  I was really nervous but she helped me every step of the way, from hair and make up to outfit choices to concept planning.

Could not recommend Lisa more highly for her approachability, professionalism and her unique ability to make me feel relaxed and comfortable.  Super happy with the outcome and the end result.  Thank you Lisa”.

Before and Afters – Personal Branding and Contemporary Portraits

Ok admit it, most people are pretty obsessed with Before and After images.

And it’s not just in the photography industry either.  People love to watch House Renovation Shows, just look at The Block, Property Brothers, Fixer Upper, This Old House, Sarah’s House, Selling Houses  the list goes on!

Then there’s shows about doing up old cars like Over Haulin, Wheeler Dealers, American Cars, For the Love of Cars, Pimp My Ride and again, the list keeps going!

Not to mention shows like The Biggest Loser!

So it’s no wonder we love to see men and women in their before and after images!

Clients come to my studio usually a little nervous and unsure, but by the end of the shoot they are so empowered and confident with the combination of looking great, feeling great and receiving direction on how to move in front of the camera – it is pure magic!

My poor blog has been a bit neglected of late, since I’ve started concentrating more on Personal Branding and Contemporary Portraits of real clients and how they are transformed in my studio.

Follow me as I share the amazing women I have been meeting and photographing, and how I can help serve you to have stunning images also.

We can guide you through your head shots or profile shots for your social media pages, cover some personal branding (if you have a business that you want to promote) and lead you into the stunning contemporary glamour portraits.

Your photo shoot experience is pampering from the start to finish and will leave you feeling like painting the town red – plan a night out after, because you will look gorgeous!!

Your session includes a pre shoot consultation, professional make-up and hair styling, 2 hours of camera time, access to the studio wardrobe (or bring your own outfits), laughter, encouragement, goodies and fun!

You’ll be delighted at how beautiful you feel during the whole process.

The reveal session to view your images will be one week after your shoot – when you’ll purchase only the images you LOVE.

To book with me, I would like to invite you to my studio for an in person consultation.  You can meet my team and tour the studio and choose some outfits.  If you can’t come in, I’m happy to do an in person consult via skype / facetime or over the phone, so we can design a session just for you.

We also capture those short-lived teenage years, semi formals and formals (in studio)

Celebrate a legacy of beautiful portraits with your children and celebrate the love you have for them.

October and November 2016 were pretty amazing months for me!   October saw me visiting London and the midlands of the UK, catching up with family members I haven’t seen for years in Leicester, and watching beautiful Hayley marry Jamie in Nottingham.  I was actually only home for 4 days when I shot a very intimate wedding in Brisbane for Amanda and John.  The following morning I was flying to the stunning Napa Valley to shoot Anne and Dan’s elopement in a private vineyard.. and then after this amazing trip, I photographed one of my very best friend’s surprise wedding!  It’s hard to believe all of this happened in four weeks!

Destination Wedding Photography - With Every HeartbeatPINIMAGE

I digress, back to Dan and Anne’s wedding!!   Ben (my husband, who is an awesome wedding photographer) and I met Dan whilst we were shooting a wedding in Brisbane about three years ago…..Dan is an Englishman from Leicester (what are the chances?) and had been living in Sydney and had just moved to Chicago with work… Ben and I got Dan’s “sense of humour” or maybe he just “got us” and we stayed in touch over the years…..

Then in June 2016, Ben was visiting Chicago and caught up with Dan, and his then lovely girlfriend, Anne (who also lives in Chicago).  Their lunch catch up lasted about 12 hours!!  A few days later, Dan and Anne were engaged in England (after Dan grilled Ben for as much wedding photography information as possible).

Before we knew it, Ben and I were flying to Napa Valley for the week to meet Dan and Anne for their elopement.  Just the two of them.

Dan and Anne were the most gracious guests, and we all stayed together at Indian Springs Resort at Calistoga, about 40 minutes drive north of Napa Valley.  Here is where we got to know Dan and Anne really well, listening to them talk about their plans for their future together, and chatting about their wedding plans.

The big day had arrived, and it had rained (heavily) for 2 days straight – (just as well Anne had planned a lot of winery visits in that time), but on their wedding day, the rain stopped, the sun came out and it was the most beautiful day.   (It started raining again for the next 3 days after their wedding too)!

So here’s their wedding day story…

Dan got ready in Ben and my apartment, whilst Anne got ready in theirs.

Anne was just so chilled and relax – just quietly enjoying her morning

Anne and Dan did a first look around 1pm before we drove to Napa Valley for their ceremony.

We stopped at Castello di Amorosa Vineyard in Napa Valley for these stunning views…

We then arrived at a beautiful little privately owned winery – which was owned by the sweetest couple.

Anne and Dan had a local Pastor marry them in the vineyard.

How beautiful, and intimate this ceremony was – just the two of them – sigh.

Now this is what I truly call an elopement – just two people madly in love, enjoying every moment together.   After the ceremony we had cake and a few wines, and then went for a few drinks, before Anne and Dan went to a special dinner together in Napa Valley.  Sounds perfect to me!

Thank you Dan and Anne for a wonderful week together – you guys will truly be friends for life and hopefully we’ll catch up with you soon in Australia!

So when are you booking your elopement???
